Fading Away…

The Morning Star by gainesp2003 on Flickr

Fading away like the stars of the morning,
Losing their light in the glorious sun—
Thus would we pass from the earth and its toiling,
Only remembered by what we have done.

– Dr Horatious Bonar

The year 2012 is running to an end and on TV networks all over the world, programmes will be on air to review the year and the events that happened within it – and there are definitely lots of events to remember the year for e.g. the London 2012 Olympics, US presidential elections, Psy’s Gangnam style video and its one billion views etc

The year will also be remembered for things that did not happen. An example is the supposed end of the world – according to the Mayan calendar, which did not happen after all!

Well, as the year fades away, to be remembered only by the things that happened, or did not happen. It’s also a chance for us to take time to review every aspect of our life, our marriages inclusive, over the past year. It’s a time to take stock, and make plans, expectations and resolutions for the new year ahead.

As you make your plans, remember that we are also fading away day by day, only to be remembered by the things we have done.

Think about how you would want your spouse and loved ones to remember you each day.

As we look forward to the new year, remember that every day is an opportunity. Make the best of it, enjoy it and make it count. Don’t wait till tomorrow to make a positive impact and have fun with your spouse, family and friends.

We will be remembered only by the things we have done.

We wish you all the best for the new year 2013.

  1. Great reminder to take stock of the previous year and set some goals to aim at for next year. One of mine is to be more positive. Have a wonderful New Year!
