All things are Possible!

Happy New year and welcome again to 2013. We pray that this will be a year that you will always remember with great joy and laughter concerning all areas of your life, including your marriage. One thing we all do, consciously or subconsciously, at the beginning of every year is to make resolutions or plans on what we want to acheive during the year or changes we intend to make. A new year always feels like starting on a new page and having a new lease of life with opportunities to change things. Whilst we make resolutions concerning ourselves. I Continue reading

Fading Away…

Fading away like the stars of the morning, Losing their light in the glorious sun— Thus would we pass from the earth and its toiling, Only remembered by what we have done. – Dr Horatious Bonar The year 2012 is running to an end and on TV networks all over the world, programmes will be on air to review the year and the events that happened within it – and there are definitely lots of events to remember the year for e.g. the London 2012 Olympics, US presidential elections, Psy’s Gangnam style video and its one billion views etc Continue reading

Be Thankful!

One thing that happens with married couples is a tendency to take each other for granted and not appreciate one another. It’s very easy for us to forget to thank God for our spouse, and to forget to thank and appreciate them for the little things they do. Yet we are always quick to point out to children the need to show proper manners by saying Thank You all the time. We always remember to thank and appreciate every one else – the postman, colleagues at work, the lady at the checkout etc. An extreme condition is when couples don’t see the good things about Continue reading

Really, why do we get married, and why did you get married? Was it because it’s what people do, or what was expected of you and the next obvious thing to do in the cycle of life? Will Your Anchor Hold?

(Photo by  Dorron ) Strong winds of between 60 – 70mph have been beating the South of England this morning. I woke up in the night and had a look out the window to check everything was still standing. And as I did, a thought came to me that if I was well prepared for the stormy winds, I would be sleeping still, and not peeping out of the window. That led me to ask myself, how do I prepare for the storms of life? Indeed, How does one prepare for the storms of life…and of marriage? Will your anchor hold in the storms of Continue reading

The Christmas…and Marriage Plan!

Be Careful that You Don’t Fall!

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!  – 1 Corinthians 10:12 NIV UK. David H. Petraeus, CIA Director resigned last week from his post after admitting he had an extra-marital affair. The following are excerpts from a statement he made after his resignation, “After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.” “… I will always treasure my opportunity Continue reading
